The first time I heard about ISIS and archeology was when I saw images of them destroying ancient artifacts at a place called Hatra in Iraq. What I didn’t realize then, is that their destruction of artifacts was a front for something much more insidious that they were doing behind the scenes. ISIS produced a play that could have made it on Broadway. However, they needed an authentic set to pull off this smoke and mirrors production. Hatra in Iraq was a perfect place to put on their traveling show.
